Currently, I am investigating the evolutionary basis of economic behavior. In one project (joint work with Arthur Robson and Daniel Monte) we look into the emergence of "Theory of Mind". In another, Arthur and I explore how genetic and cultural evolution jointly determine risk attitudes. I hope to continue along this vein in studying other economically important characteristics, such as preferences, discount rates, and attitudes to trust. The overriding aim of the research is a theoretical framework for how genes and culture interact to shape economic behavior.
