My primary research interest is the Middle to Upper Palaeolithic transition in Europe. In particular, I am interested in behavioural and cultural differences between Neanderthals and early modern humans, and the role such differences may have played in the replacement of Neanderthals by modern humans. My MA research examined evidence for clothing among Neanderthals and early modern humans in Europe during the onset of the Last Glacial Maximum (60-20 thousand years ago). For my PhD dissertation, my research will explore lithic phylogeny in the Middle and Upper Palaeolithic.
